Interrupt question
Just wondering if anyone else has encountered this or knows anything about it.... I have been 600/smiting Gates of Kryta mission+bonus in HM, really no problems except 1, there has been a few occasions where I have Mantra of Resolve up (at least 1/2 duration left) and the Mergoyls still interrupt me when I try and cast Spell Breaker, how is that possible? Does anyone know a way around that?
Edit: No, no knockdown. Mergoyles use Mantra of Lightning, Mind Wrack, Spirit Shackles, and Power Block (Elite, Hard Mode only) and Power block is the only interrupt skill, no KD skills at all. Last edited by Zeff Nut; Jul 17, 2008 at 06:46 PM // 18:46.. |

Do they knockdown? I don't know much about Gates of Kryta HM but a knockdown would still interupt your cast.

They use [power block]. It bypasses anti-interrupt by disabling it. Sadly, the "interrupted skill" does not, in fact, have to be interrupted for the disable to occur. Last edited by Sindy; Jul 17, 2008 at 06:46 PM // 18:46.. |

They cast Maelstrom, right?
That interrupts you, and everytime you're interrupted under Mantra you lose energy. Once you lose all your energy, Mantra ends. Look into that. |

Mmm, Snow Bunny, they do not cast Maelstrom and energy is not an issue (never drops to 0) Mantra is still up so that is why I'm wondering how I can be interrupted. Sindy, you are completely correct about Power Block, I looked at it and it is an elite Spell, Mantra is supposed to prevent that, if it does not, does that mean that Power Block is unblockable?
Edit: Also you are right about the interrupted skill not having to be the actual one interrupted as Power Block affects all skills of the same attribute. |

Sindy is right, PB disables all skills of the same attribute regardless of whether an interrupt happened or not. Mantra prevents the interrupt (as described) but not the disabling part. Since PB is used while you're activating a skill, the status of the skill changes to disabled in mid-cast and the spell fails.
Everything is working as intended. |

Its kinda like certain skills 'failing' if the target dies before the cast is finished. Sicne Power Block disables the skill before it finishes casting, it fails. Looks like an interrupt, but it isn't. It simply makes the spell fail to cast, which is just as useful as an interrupt.
